truth that angers
From CNN:
'Enemies of humanity' quote raises Iraq PR questions
News release quotes from unidentified Iraqis are virtually the same

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- The U.S. military on Sunday said it was looking into how virtually identical quotations ended up in two of its news releases about different insurgent attacks.

Following a car bombing in Baghdad on Sunday, the U.S. military issued a statement with a quotation attributed to an unidentified Iraqi that was virtually identical to a quote reacting to an attack on July 13.

After questioning by news media, the military released the statement without the quotation. The term Americans would use, had this been committed by Pravda, is "cover up".

Lt. Col. Clifford Kent, spokesman for the U.S. Army's 3rd Infantry Division, said use of the quote was an "administrative error." He said the military was looking into the matter. Administrative error, which of course would mean it wasn't even done by any reporters or any other legitimate source. It's simply a policy Pentagon typists play along with. Pure fabrication.

The car bomb killed 25 people and wounded 33 others near the al-Rashad police station, Baghdad emergency police said. (Full story)

A statement about the attack by Task Force Baghdad 3rd Infantry Division contained a three-sentence quote attributed to an unidentified Iraqi. ShadowWar's feel-good Official US ARMY News stories were attributed to unknowns in the same manner, a ridiculous fact I had pointed out. The statement said the Iraqi called the attackers "enemies of humanity" and vowed to "take the fight to the terrorists."

The quote was virtually the same as a quote contained in a Task Force Baghdad 3rd Infantry Division statement released after a car bombing on July 13. That attack killed several children.

The statement about the July 13 attack quoted an unidentified Iraqi saying terrorists were attacking "the children." In Sunday's quote, an unidentified Iraqi said terrorists were attacking "the ISF" (Iraqi Security Forces).

Following are the two quotes as provided by the U.S. military in news releases:

Sunday's news release said: "'The terrorists are attacking the infrastructure, the ISF and all of Iraq. They are enemies of humanity without religion or any sort of ethics. They have attacked my community today and I will now take the fight to the terrorists,' said one Iraqi man who preferred not to be identified."

The July 13 news release said: "'The terrorists are attacking the infrastructure, the children and all of Iraq,' said one Iraqi man who preferred not to be identified. 'They are enemies of humanity without religion or any sort of ethics. They have attacked my community today and I will now take the fight to the terrorists.'"

Unfortunately, Shadow War has been outed as a propagandist, whether by collusion or unwittingly. Either way, his source has been described by myself as rubbish propaganda, and now it has been (again) revealed my insight was correct. And I ask not for any apologies or anything like that. Just for your own personal admission that things are much as I describe them, without news filters ShadowWar employs. Without propaganda he also uses. Just a truth-totaller is all I am. I would greatly appreciate any kind of response to this important thread which outs the lies being placed out there. Of course this begs the question: how much of the official US ARMY NEWSWIRE is pure fabrication, for we all know that relevant fact weighs heavily upon Shadow's news threads. How do we know the picture of the suicide vest wasn't used for some other story? How do we know the story isn't all lies? Why should we believe this story if the other stories are proven fantasy and plaigarism?

How is that when it has shown you are nothing but a left wing propaganists yourself? Where is most of the sources for your accusations and crazy conspiracy theories? You have been debunked about as many times as col has, and you still don't realize it.

What exactly is this supposed to prove? Just because two people say similar things doesn't make it propaganda. And, who cares if it is propaganda? This is a very well known tactic in war.

I know why you have such a hard time believing that two people can say similar things. No one agrees with you. It must be lonely in your corner with your tin foil hat and five finger puppets.

Maybe it's a popular meme in Iraq right now? I can't imagine why that might be, but who knows?

Also, it seems kind of flimsy to base my dismissal of Shadow (who I admit I'd never heard of until just now) on Reiki's claim that he's a propagandist--not when the evidence is Reiki's own claim that he's a propagandist.

But I will freely admit that yes, the two quotes do look very similar. Sloppy reporting? Sloppy editing? Popular meme? Propaganda? We know what Reiki thinks. I'm just not sure why.

Ooh! I have another comment!

What should the Pentagon say in the event of real administrative error? You know that an organization that size, people are bound to make mistakes from time to time. Paste from the wrong buffer, grab the wrong file, etc. We've all seen it happen. We've all done it. Administrative error.

But the Pentagon can't call it "administrative error", because, as Reiki has so wisely explained to us, that's a code word for "totatitarian propaganda".

So what's the Pentagon code word for "one of our staff made an honest mistake, which we acknowledged and corrected as soon as we caught it"?

Wow, your logic is just baffling. I could rip it apart bit by bit and show each and every flaw in your reasoning, but you wouldn't believe a word of it so I won't waste my time.

You're a nut-job.

Since he has used my Name now 4 times in his article titles does that mean he loves me?

I feel the love , I have to laugh, I seem to really get his gall. I think its because my articles prove so much of his world is fantasy and lies. When your world starts to crumble around you, you will do almost anything to keep it whole. Well lets see if the moderators say anything about it.

Wow there's a lot more replies than shown. It says one reply. Anyways, what does this prove? Well, John let me ask you what you would say to me if I gave you "facts" taken from JihanUnspun and tried to pass them off as genuine news stories, then you read how JihadUnspun was using the very same "statements" from very "anonymous witnesses" and it was clear it was a clean-cut cut-and-paste-job, and not only that, but then the Admin top-echelon at JihadUnspun told everyone it was just "an administrative error on the part of the JihadUnspun administrative staff.". You'd all blast me for using propaganda, CONFIRMED PROPAGANDA, as factual news, and you people know it. Read that. And you people know it. So, John, respond please. What would you say to me if I used that shit as reliable news?
This is an important threashold we are crossing here, in my opinion, because it's so openly obvious that the real baa-baa sheeple are in fact all of you, such as the laughably not moderate Moderateman, or the meek anonymous JustJohn, who, if he is who I think he is, once said that I was stupid for not accepting the fact that the US found WMD in Iraq, or that India was going to be the newest American ally in Iraq, and that the GI's being killed in Iraq were not being killed because of the direct policies of the Bush Administration. Now that's insanity. JustJohn, if you are not the one I am referring to, I apologize with due respect. If you are the John I'm thinking of, I would like to ask you when the 'discovered' Iraqi WMD evidence is going to finally become public, and how the Indian soldiers have been adapting to playing basketball with the American GI's.
So in closing people, you can once again laugh and pretend this wouldn't be evidence of insanity if it were on the other foot. Some pretend to be confused as to how this could be evidence of propaganda. How silly. Like I say, things have a relative flipside, and by relative I mean 'focused on reality'. And again you all know it. JihadUnspun=propaganda....US ARMY NEWSWIRE=propaganda. Accepted? Yes or no then reasons for it please.

Dude, until you've read Army Times, STFU. You're talking about something you know exactly dick about. You lack even a shred of credibility, and your condescending and hateful rantings only alienate you from we "sheep" that you wish to convert to your way of thinking.

Truth is not what you seek or espouse, but rather you conjure up imaginary links and evidence to support the opinions you hold.
